Marianne Williamson is a lot of things: Democratic presidential candidate, spiritual advisor to Oprah, former roommate of Laura Dern, and most recently, ex-pet parent.
Why do we know this? Williamson peeled back yet another layer of her bafflingly eccentric personality last night on the press carpet at CNN's Democratic debate.
After spending time going off about the "dark psychic force of the collectivized hatred" that she says Trump has brought to the country, she was answering questions from reporters on all kinds of topics. The state of the nation? Her campaign goals? Well, we care less about her reactions to those kinds of questions. No, today we're talking about the real hard-hitting stuff: pets.
Kid reporter Jeffrey Kraft from KidScoop Media had the opportunity to ask presidential candidates about what pet they would bring to the White House, should they be elected. When approached by Williamson, she had an, uh, incredibly honest answer. Thankfully, Associated Press reporter Philip Crowther was there to capture the moment.

"Do you have a pet?” Kraft asked Williamson, who replied, “I had a cat and the cat died.”
Hmm. I mean, a simple "no, I don't have a cat" would've sufficed, don't you think? Did she really have to let him face the brutal realities of pet mortality?

When asked what kind of pet she would bring to the White House in a follow up question, Williamson didn't really answer.
"The White House is very big. Theoretically you can have a cat and a dog," she told Kraft.
Other than bumming out a junior reporter, did Williamson think the night went well for her? According to The Hill, she'll know later when she "sees the memes."
